Building Team Culture Calendar

Welcome to Building Team Culture with Coach Shawn, I’m excited you’re here! Today’s goal is to provide a consistent weekly calendar so you know what posts to expect once you subscribe.

Team Culture Calendar

Building Team Culture – Newsletter Calendar

Mega Monday – Long-Form Articles

Every Monday you’ll receive a deep-dive or long-form article on team culture, team building, or leadership. These pieces will typically run around 1,000 words and are designed for people to think critically and reflect at the beginning of the week, when attention and energy are still high.

TCA Tuesday – Team Culture Awards

On Tuesdays, I’ll highlight individuals who are doing outstanding work in building strong, healthy team cultures in their own contexts—sports, business, classrooms, and beyond. I’ll be rolling out a nomination form soon so you can recommend people who deserve recognition for the way they lead, support, and uplift their teams.

Wankah Wednesday – What Not to Do

Inspired by the Apple TV series Ted Lasso, Wednesdays will feature examples of what not to do when trying to build team culture. These posts will unpack common habits, attitudes, or decisions that quietly undermine trust and connection. The theme is simple: if you want to be a great leader and teammate, rule number one is “Don’t be a Wankah!”

Top 10 Thursday – Lists with Impact

Some topics are best tackled in a concise, practical list rather than a full essay. On Thursdays, you’ll get Top 10 lists related to team culture, athletics, and leadership. These posts will lean a bit more into humor and punchy insights, making them easy to skim but still useful enough to bookmark and return to.

Frankly Friday – Video or Podcast

Fridays will feature more conversational content: a video post or podcast episode focused on team culture and team building. After the first month or so, most Fridays will be interviews with experienced coaches and leaders who are in the trenches doing the work. The goal is to hear honest, practical perspectives you can apply directly with your own teams.

Survey Saturday – Learn from the Community

On Saturdays, I’ll share a short survey that invites you to weigh in on a key question related to leadership or team building. The idea is to learn from the collective wisdom of this community and then share back interesting patterns, insights, and takeaways in future posts.

Soccer Sunday – Offline and On the Pitch

Sundays are for resting or recharging as needed, so you shouldn’t expect new Team Culture content. Consider it an intentional pause to relax, reflect, and maybe spend some time outside, instead of in your inbox.
